Heritage Spanish Speakers
Students who are Heritage Speakers, i.e. grew up speaking Spanish, must enroll in SPAN 010/SPAN 011. Only when SPAN 010/SPAN 011 are full may they be advised/allowed to enroll in SPAN 003/SPAN 004.

SPAN 010 → If course is full, student may enroll in SPAN 003

SPAN 011 → If course is full, student may enroll in SPAN 004
Students cannot start one series and finish with the second course of another. For example, if a student takes SPAN 003, they will then have to take SPAN 004.
Heritage Spanish Speakers should not enroll in SPAN 001 or SPAN 002 without consulting with their academic advisor or the World Languages Coordinator, Virginia Adan-Lifante.
Heritage Speakers Who Have Not Taken College-Level Language Courses
Students who are Heritage Speakres, i.e. grew up speaking Spanish, must complete the SPAN 010/011 series.

Students who are Non-Heritage Speakers, i.e. did not grow up speaking Spanish, must complete the SPAN 001-SPAN 004 series.
