About the Placement Exams

All exams are:

  • One-time-only
  • Free
  • Offered during limited testing windows

There is no disadvantage to taking them. When in doubt, take the exam.

This is especially important if you are:

  • Exploring different majors
  • Considering a double major or minor
  • Planning for graduate or professional school (e.g., law, medical, nursing)
  • Considering multiple career paths

What If You Later Earn Higher Placement?

  • If you take a placement exam and later receive an AP or IB score that qualifies you for a more advanced course, you may enroll in the higher-level course.
  • If you complete a transferable college course before starting and submit your official transcript, you may also enroll in the more advanced course.
