Your UC Merced placement exam scores, combined with your other academic data, determine your level of readiness for courses in:

• Chemistry (CHEM)
• Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)
• Mathematics (MATH)
• Writing (WRI)
• World Languages (Chinese, French, Japanese, Spanish)

Your scores will allow you to begin in the courses in which you will be most successful at UC Merced.

HOW TO CHECK YOUR PLACEMENT EXAM SCORES

• Log on to your connect.ucmerced.edu student portal

  • Select My Student Record

  • Choose Student Profile

  • Click on Testing in the left column

• To see which course you are eligible to take at UC Merced based on your placement scores:

  • See the Office of the Registrar charts at Test Scores and Placement Exams
